Create rooms where the room mission is to present collapsed messages acting as reference lists of any kind, rather than verbose messages.
Why would you like to do it?
Because spaces serve as organizers, and right now, all they do is organize a single room type. Default rooms. It is logical and reasonable to assume rooms can have more functions, such as storing reference items needed by users and bots. A simple LIST of something is my most common need. It's very sloppy to use existing message UI layouts for this. The user names, avatars, and random message lengths all interfere with a simple, legible list of anything.
How would you like to achieve it?
A new setting for a room called "Layout" (or just Room Type?) Thus, a reading lists of book titles and 1 life of description would require a room setting of Room Type or Layout
☐ Messages ☑List Collapse like items to [ 2 ] lines
Have you considered any alternatives?
Yes, and it never works. Giving users rules for formatting messages as lists is a fool's errand.
Additional context
My biggest frustration with Element has always been the lack lists, pages, bookmarks, and organizable file lists, that are now standard features in slack channels or integrations with it. Element is the best matrix client ever, and superior to slack in so many ways. Just not in this way. Yet.
