Profile and New Message buttons disappear after backgrounding ElX on iPad #3271

Steps to reproduce

Open ElX on iPad
Swipe up to return home
Open ElX again
See that the Profile and New Message buttons are missing
See that the only (?) way to get them back is to force quit ElX

Outcome

What did you expect?

Profile and New Message buttons not to stay where they are

What happened instead?

Profile and New Message buttons ran away, no where to be seen
