Wouldn't it be great if my neighbor and I could pool our resources to make a more powerful cluster?

Its easy for us to pay each other small amounts of money, frequently, in a private manner. What would it take to add other people's devices to a cluster upon receiving the payment and remove them again when they have used up their credit?

are you suggesting we use cashu for this?

Yes I think cashu would be a good choice. We are currently using the cashu protocol in TollGate because it is very easy to work with. There are also other e-cash implementations like fedimint and gnu-taler though.

Cashu and fedimint both run on lightning rails so they are interoperable with each-other. I would be happy to assist with cashu integration since I anyway work with it in TollGate.
