There are five breeds of which only one ElePHPant has ever been produced. Should the application prevent more than one Shepherd from adding that breed to their herd? Should it be possible for other Shepherds to add that breed to their list of desired breeds? I can't imagine the Shepherds that own the rarest ElePHPants would want to trade.

For the first question: yeah, I would love to have some solid numbers on how many where produced of certain breeds - we could add "rarity" scores to an elephpant and an entire herd, which would be cool to have. We could indeed prevent more than N of that breed in circulation.
For the second question, nah, why would we want to prevent that from happening? I hope it would happen one day :D
