It's been a while since these cute puppies invaded various source-ports, but they have a huge problem in a way of impossible transportation across the map.
Even in IWADs we have a complex layouts on some levels that is hard to navigate thru as players.
And poor doggies have a Helluva bad time while trying to help us out when our HP is below 50%.
There is some trivia that original creator of these beasts (Lee Killough) wanted to implement some kind of "whistle", so we can summon (or recall?) our marine's best friends to the nearby location at will.
Personally, I think that keybind named "Whistle" can be really nice to have, since these NPCs is really fun to mod them around, adding new attacks and changing their sprites and sounds, but they are felt kinda forgotten over time.
And I hope that if this ever gonna be completed - "Nugget Doom" & "Cherry Doom" can port this feature into them.

I think we can add teleporting them next to the player. Pathfinding in Doom is obviously not very good 😄

Or we can temporarily give them NOCLIP abilities until they are in a certain proximity to the player again. Then the dog would jump through the wall next to the player when the whistle sounds. 😆
