Colette (she/her)

How I get my best work done:

  • with a schedule (based on amount of work divided by chunks and spaced out over an appropriate period, rather than being based on filling a certain length of time)

The role I usually take in a team:

  • I genuinely don't know

My communication style:

  • very dependent on mood
  • I don't talk over other people, and I hate it when people try to finish my sentences (their guesses are always so, so incorrect)

What I value:

  • I am grateful for the fact that everyone here seems passionate and committed, but humble

What people misunderstand about me:

  • I am sometimes selective about what to bother saying out loud, and sometimes people think that I am "being shy"
  • I picked up an annoying habit of being sarcastic for no reason, which I now realise comes across as pretty obnoxious - I may have managed to drop this habit by now, though; I'm not sure

How I like to get my feedback:

  • not excessively bluntly, I guess
  • I don't like it when people have a pattern of assuming that they're definitely right (unless it's very clear that they unambiguously and objectively are)

Technical strengths & weaknesses:

  • strengths - I'm not sure
  • weaknesses - verbose code

Interests (programming or otherwise!):

  • programming
  • video games
  • music (to the horror of my high school self, who only listened to alternative/rock/metal, I am now one of those people who listens to "a bit of everything")
  • reading
  • parties/clubs

V2.1

  • If you decide to chastise me for being "mean" or whatever, unless I'm being rude about your own mother, I'll know that you're just trying to look good.

  • Please don't enter a digital debate partway through; write a paragraph of points that have mostly already been refuted, and then accuse me of "missing the point" for not addressing them again.

V2.2

  • I sometimes get dizzy if I haven't eaten. If you take it upon yourself to suggest that I don't have time to go and get food, and something like a piece of fruit should suffice, then I feel that it would be beneficial for you to reevaluate who exactly it is that you think you are.
