Get codes for vectors already added to a trained index

Summary

I would like to get codes for vectors already added to a trained index given an arbitrary id or a range of ids.

Running on:

• CPU
• GPU

Interface:

• C++
• Python

Reproduction instructions

I could get the codes for the first n items in an index by:

vecs = index.reconstruct_n(0,1000) # Or get a single one using reconstruct(id)
codes = index.sa_encode(vecs.reshape(-1,index.d))

I was wondering if I could access the codes directly without having to reconstruct them first since are stored in the index as codes already and it feels redundant.
