Ferdium’s “Launch on start” option relies on an access to ~/.config/autostart/, or at least the ~/.config/autostart/ferdium.desktop file to create its autostart desktop entry. Currently, ticking this option does nothing when Ferdium has been installed from Flatpak (but works if it has been installed from dpkg). I suspect it is indeed for Ferdium can’t write the autostart file because of Flatpak’s sandboxing limitations. Here is the related issue on Ferdium’s repository: ferdium/ferdium-app#1121
Note: I can’t make a pull request nor test any changes because I don’t use Flatpak myself
