The command multimarkdown -b "TestbriefDaniel - Köpie - Kopie.md" produces the following error Error reading file 'TestbriefDaniel - K÷pie - Kopie.md'.

MMD can't handle path-/filenames with umlauts. That should be fixed.

It works fine for me. What OS are you using? Did you verify that the filename you typed matches the exact filename on disk (including the exact UTF-8 characters used)? I assume you used some sort of autocompletion when typing to verify that?
