I have built a few of these and every time they have not quite closed perfectly.
This week I downloaded a (x)200mm x (y)80mm box thickness 3.6mm
Outside dimensions was ticked
This part was ok
The lid height was set to 25mm
Inner height (h)set to 40mm
Lid height outside came out 28.6
Inner height (h) came out 36.4
Burn set to 0
As I put my 3d model together on the screen I noticed that whwn the box is closed the back of the lid sits 0.36mm away from the back of the base. This means the wooden finger that holds the disc at the center of the hinge is 0.36mm above where it should be.(see image below).
So when the laser cut wooden box is physically put together it does not close perfectly.
Also the arc clearence above the hinge was 0.36mm, this would be fine at 0.1 or 0.2mm
Hope this all makes sense.
So what is actually causing the box to not to line up.
The back piece of the lid is not deep enough by 0.36mm causing the hinge 'finger' to be out by 0.36mm.
**
After further investigation this is caused by the PLAY setting in SETTINGS FOR CHEST HINGES which is set to 0.1 by default and causes this problem of the box being out of line by 0.1 x thickness which in my case is 0.36mm.
When PLAY is set to zero everything lines up perfectly.
There does need to be some play in the hinge but the execution of it currently does not work correctly.
After further research the reason the box goes out of true when there is a value entered in the 'PLAY' field is because the lid back panel {blue} is reduced in height but the position of the slot in the centre of the hinge is unchanged, so as the 'PLAY' field is increased the back panel height is reduced causing the lid to no longer close completely
