Awesome Pangolin running only LOCAL but how? #44
-
I have installed the Pangolin Reverse Proxy by Fossorial on a VPS, and it works perfectly. However, I would like to run it locally instead of on the VPS. The documentation mentions assigning the domain to the public IP address, but I have DS-Lite and no public IPv4 address. Is there a way to run Pangolin entirely locally without requiring a public IP address? |

When you say entirely locally do you mean no public internet access at all? If so I think yes already. You would still need a domain but the public domain / local DNS would point to Traefik's local IP on your network. The domain is required for Traefik to proxy to different resources. For certs you could use probably use the wildcard auth method with lets encrypt to validate your domain to get certificates or remove lets encrypt entirely. With local DNS obviously certs would have to be self signed. Does this make sense? |
