As a Galasa tester, I want the OS of the VMs used for testing to be in support, so that they are available to run the Galasa integration tests.
Background
We have been notified that the OS of the 4 Linux VMs we own in the HDC is coming to End of Life on April 23rd and the VMs will be locked on the 11th February if they are not upgraded.
DevIT does not advise upgrading across major versions and instead suggests building new VMs at the desired level and migrating any required data (see doc here).
Tasks
Investigate which would be a simpler solution: attempting to upgrade the OS or recreating new VMs in Openstack
Check the Linux Manager for any code that might need updating if we upgrade the OS (any enums with version numbers for example?)
Attempt to upgrade OS / recreate the VMs
If recreating the VMs, update CPS properties that need updating
Create and manage users on the VMs
