Relationship between a synset and sense

Is it correct to say:

1. A synset has exactly one sense
2. A sense belongs to exactly one synset?

I'm not talking about all the other types of relationships like hypo/hyper, part/whole, etc.

Maybe you should re-read the wordnet documentation/papers. This is a very fundamental property.
