There are no tests in the PyPI sdist, and no release tags here.
Ideally there are both ways to get a set of tests to accompany each version, to be used to validate distro packages.

just didn't want to let this sit on unread - I agree I should, but I've been extremely busy with several things for the last half year or so. Once I get back to having enough energy to do maint work in the evenings, I will address this.
