"What's New" popup irritating on Mobile

The What's New Popup is irritating on Mobile. Can it be on a 15 second timer for each refresh?

If slightly zoomed in on landscape mode you can't see the Close "x" in the top right corner so it completely covers the page and it is not obvious how to get rid of it. Sorry Kai for posting all the issues, I wish I could help with the coding, but it is a bit to complex for me.

Hi @hpssjellis, this is more on me. I've been pushing a lot of updates (before my semester starts picking up steam here!), so I want to make sure the updates are easy for folks to see. We'll see what we can do to minimize the effect. We are currently using the stock quarto banner announcement feature.

@profvjreddi I would have a look at the code and make a PR if I can suggest fixes with some of the issues but I can't even find the socratiQ code on the mlsysbook.ai github? Is it open source on a different github, or presently closed?
