[Question] Is it possible to host the Helium Router on Helium testnet? #913

Is it possible to connect the Helium Router to Helium testnet? Has this already been done? In my usecase, I would solely like to test the network with a virtual-lorawan-device. Testing on mainnet could be very expensive should anything go wrong, hence my interest in developing on testnet, where I can get testnet tokens(TNT) for no cost.

I would like to:

  1. Deploy a helium router LNS connected to testnet
  2. Add a data-only gateway to testnet and assert location
  3. Join a virtual-lorawan-device to the network, sending uplinks

Judging by #580 (comment) on #580, it appears that a router can indeed be connected to testnet. Is there an instance of the router out there that is currently connected to testnet?

An excellent article by disk91 documents the steps for deploying the router to create a private lorawan network. Its all done on mainnet, and according to the article, costs "more than $900 in DC / HNT".
