Lesson 4.12: Presentations & Survey

Key Points

Presentation Day is centered around students showcasing their Unit 4 projects. The lesson is structured with an icebreaker, followed by guided group presentations, where each student has 2 minutes to present their website and answer questions. The session concludes with a survey to collect feedback and closing shout-outs to recognize and celebrate the efforts and achievements of peers and instructors.

  • ⏰ Do Now (5) :

    • Briefly explain what the students will be doing today, and set the stage for the presentations.

  • 🗣️ Presentations Intro/Demo (10) :

    • Discuss the unit's focus on JS to build a Buzzfeed-Like Quiz project.
    • Highlight the skills learned during the unit.

  • ✨ Presentations (20) :

    • Divide students into groups (e.g., Gr. A, B, C, etc.) and explain the process.
    • 2 minutes for Presentation: Each student presents their website.
    • 1-2 minutes for Q&A: Time for questions and answers from peers and instructors.
    • Go over the expectations for behavior during presentations, such as inclusivity, not talking over others, and creating a safe environment for academic risks.
    • Facilitate the presentations, ensuring that each group member has a chance to present, and guide the audience in asking questions.

  • ✍️ Survey (5) :

    • Distribute survey to collect feedback on Unit 4.

  • 🎉 Closing & Shout Outs (5) :

    • Encourage students to shout out their peers, instructors, or highlight any particular projects or aspects of the unit they enjoyed.
    • Summarize the day’s achievements and celebrate the successful completion of the unit, congratulating students on their hard work and presentations.

Notes

  • Time Management: Ensure that the given time for each segment is adhered to, in order to cover everything planned for the lesson.
  • Support and Encouragement: Provide positive reinforcement and support to the students, especially during presentations, to foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Technical Assistance: Be ready to provide technical help with Google Classroom, GitHub, or any other tools used in the lesson.
