Planned outage of the main directory servers for a short period of time

I got the following email from my server provider (just the important parts given below):

Dear Customers,

We would like to inform you today about an upcoming change that affects your servers. Between January 15, 2025, and March 31, 2025, we will migrate part of your vServers from our current location, Telehouse in Frankfurt am Main, to our new second location at the Maincubes data center in Frankfurt am Main. This step is being taken to ensure we can continue to provide you with the best value for money and offer new services in the future.

What does this mean for you?

New IP Address: Due to the relocation, the IP address of your server will change. We understand that many of you recently received a new IP address and apologize for this additional adjustment. Unfortunately, this change is necessary as we are moving to our own IP networks and cannot transfer addresses from the Telehouse location.

Migration Process
Due to the number of VPSs, it is unfortunately not possible for us to specify an exact time for your server's migration in advance. Migrations will take place around the clock during the specified period. Once your VPS has been successfully migrated and assigned a new IP address, you will automatically receive an email notification with your new IP address.

Since the IP address changes, I have to apply this change to my 1&1 provider to update the URL. As written above, I do not know when it will happen exactly. But as soon as I get the email, I'll do the change. Since the email can arrive at any time (when I am at work, e.g.), there may be an additional delay.

Therefore, in the time period given above, an outage of up to one day may be possible.

Note that only the main directory servers are affected. The "Rock", "Jazz", etc. directories will still be available for jamming.

My personal server got migrated yesterday evening/night.

Same hosting provider.

Genres 1-3 are down this evening (UK) 27/01/25. The other Genres still function.

Yes, my server was moved last night. I received a new IP address: 82.153.225.55 and I already updated jamulus.fischvolk.de for that new address. Unfortunately, I cannot ping/login into the new server. According to my Cloud Panel, the server is running. I tried to reboot it multiple times but I did not help. I now wrote a support email to my provider and waiting for feedback.

Since I have to go to work now, earliest this afternoon I can continue the investigations on this matter.

@corrados Potentially you need to login via VNC instead and there change something on the server.

I forgot to answer: Yes, you were right. I had to log in via VNC. There were a static network configuration which had to be changed. I guess you had to do the same for your server as well.
