Add current values to mqtt feed #1237

Hi @mattster98 You don't mention what version of genmon you are using. You also do not mention what controller you are using. The latest version (V1.19.05) displays both L1 and L2 current as well as the battery charger current. Genmon outputs JSON values, the web interface converts these to plain text and displays them. The MQTT add on converts the JSON to a MQTT topic / value. The MQTT add on does this for the data displayed on the Status, Maintenance, and Monitor pages. Regarding the live view page, the reason that this info is not exported to MQTT is that it would redundant and have not meaningful context. To my knowledge all validated data is displayed. Keep in mind that not all controller variants export the same data. For example, if genmon is running on a Evolution 1.0 Liquid Cooled it will only dispaly the registers that are valid for that specific controller. The charger current is only on Evo, not nexus and the Current Output E1 and E1 are only valid for Evolution Air cooled models, not liquid cooled. The liquid cooled models have on register, not two, for total current. Let me know if you have any questions. |

Sorry for the lack of details - I actually was farther behind than I realized. I'm now on 1.19.05. My generator is an air cooled 22KW with an Evolution 2.0 controller. After updating I was able to find the toggles to enable showing those values in the UI. I'm also seeing them in the mqtt data now as well. Thanks so much! |

Hi - I have been testing my generator (I don't "get" to use it much) and noticed a few values I hadn't seen before.. either not paying attention or because they're not getting into the mqtt feed that I log & chart, etc.
Two specific ones are interesting in the "Live register view". They appear to represent the current on the two legs of power coming out of the generator. "Current Output E1 and E2 (EvoAC)" This is a nice source of truth for what the generator is doing and I'd love to track this. The "battery charger CT" is down there too which is also interesting.
Is there a straightforward way to use what I can see on this page to update the code to push these over to mqtt? I know about enough to be dangerous, so some quick pointers will get me going, probably. 😆
