Hi, thank you for this extension!

It'd be wonderful is this extension also worked for wikilinks.

When I have, let's say, Note 1 and Note 2 open side-by-side and I want to link something from Note 1 (or Note 1 itself) in Note 2, instead of using the auto-suggester (i.e. what you see when you input [[ ) and fiddling around with | and aliases, I'd like to follow this workflow:

  1. Copy a wikilink to Note 1 (with Copy Block Link or a Templater script).
  2. Select the text in Note 2 that I want to become the wikilink's alias.
  3. Insert the wikilink.

So, the desired behavior is as follows:

If clipboard is:

a)

[[Lorem]]

or

b)

[[Lorem|Alias]]

And pasted into selection

Ipsum

Then output:

[[Lorem|Ipsum]]

In case b), omit Alias in favor of Ipsum.

This would make linking notes all the more convenient!

This was also requested for Auto Card Link and Paste URL into selection:

This should be easy enough to implement, but since (to my knowledge) Obsidian doesn't have a native way of copying a wikilink into the clipboard, it seems fairly niche. Happy to review a PR.

Copy Block Link is a popular plugin. Additionally, one often needs to copy and paste existing wikilinks between notes.

Since I don't code, I cannot submit a PR...
