I've thrown up and interim website because we need to start selling tickets in the next few days. Lots of things left to do, and I'd love some help.

  • Logo art for DHTMLConf 2000
  • Logo art for CSSConf (we're currently borrowing the one from CSSConf.au)
  • Logo art for Nothing Is Sacred
  • Logo art for NodeBaseConf
  • Logo art for DanceJS
  • Logo art for NodeSchool (I pinged @jlord already about it)
  • Logo art for Hapi Day
  • Better design, cause I suck at it and just hacked up what @thefoxis did for jsfest.com ;)
  • Create CFP repo (I'll do this right before we announce)
  • Create sponsorship doc (I'll do this soon)
  • Setup tito early bird tickets.
  • Add some people to the site, right now we can just add the organizers, but later we can add speakers as they get accepted.
  • Mobile styling.

I can help with front-end/design stuff for the site (although next two weeks are hardcore because jsfest.berlin but will try my best ;).

Already figuring out CSSConf logo 👍

Just don't use "NodeBaseConf" or we'll have the confusion of last year where people assumed "NodeBaseCamp" was an intro to Node.

@jennschiffer that's amazing :) I think I've already added you as a collaborator on the dhtmlconf.com repo, go ahead and update the website with whatever you want :)

@mikeal just out of curiosity how the public CfP is working so far for JSFests + nodeconf one shots? I have a little fear that some people (especially people who haven't spoken before) might be potentially intimidated or scared because it's all in the open. Did you notice that in terms of submission numbers? My fear might be unfounded though :)

PS. We should add information whether we're seeking locals or intend on covering travel costs. And shout out to callbackwomen and calltospeakers when we announce CfP, but I'm pretty sure you got that covered already :)

In my experience there hasn't been a drop in submissions at all. If you are concerned you could include your email address as an alternative for CSSConf submissions. Also keep in mind that you're welcome to solicit and invite whatever speakers you want.

@jennschiffer I tried using that image on the website but it's a little too long horizontally, most of the images are squared off. http://oakland.jsfest.com

@thefoxis after my last push with some mobile fixes I'm at my limit in terms of design and CSS. feel free to tear it apart as much as you like :)

@mikeal do we want to set the dates for existing events so we can promote, add it to separate pages if given event has any + do the lanyrd thing? (I can set it up)

Ah also: I was asking whether we should get local speakers only or add info about covering travel+accomm to CfP (not sure how it worked during JSFest SF).

It would be good to add the list of the events and whatever is covered by the ticket to Ti.to 💞

I want to avoid setting specific dates until we have better numbers on the number of attendees and the dates all the venues are available. Basically, another month or so :)

hey what's the deal with speaker travel/board - is anything being covered by the conf?

the conference can pay for out of town speakers. but, because the conference is so long and people will likely want to be around longer than just the event they are speaking at I would suggest doing this as a stipend rather than a straight reimbursement or paying for the travel outright. also, with this many people, it would be a nightmare to book the travel for everyone.

of course, there are exceptions, all of the staff can get full reimbursement for all their travel and accomodations, and it may be wise to book a block of rooms for the week just for staff.
