What are the trade-offs here in liveness / variance?

Looks like we're going to start with n-of-n to prevent griefing subgroup fraud... meaning we'll want much smaller signer sets for the first release, otherwise any significant network outage could hit many deposits.

Can you explain why n-of-n prevents griefing? it seems like it allows a single person to grief regardless

Sorry, I should've said "to prevent profitable subgroup theft"
