i think the most important thing for Blue to become a mature DAW for Csound, would be the support for recording Midi events- of course, in a Blue/Csound way (which i will explain further).
Looking at the great popularity of integrating Csound as VST plugins in Reaper or Ableton, it shows the need for playing the Midi keyboard (virtual or not) and getting direct sonic feedback.
But i think Blue has an advantage here if you look at Blue as a DAW for musique concrete and electroacoustic music, using Csound as the sound engine:
where regular DAWs are limited to 12notes/octave, Blue/Csound does not have this 'grid' enforced upon it and is more free to look for musical colors and textures in between those notes.
Along with the power of Algorithmic programs such as JMask, nGen, AthenaCL, the Note Processors and the like- options that i do not see in regular DAWs.
My vision ( and for sure, this is my vision but this a place to discuss and challenge this) would be:
stop Blue's Java Midi system
use the Csound Midi system, certainly now that there is attention for improvements in midi for multiple in and out ports in Csound7
select a Scala file right after the midi input that will map the Midi keyboard
record the events in the PianoRoll (that has the same Scala file)
extend the options for the PianoRoll for recording controllers, pitchbend etc.
all based this on the Csound opcodes and thus compatible in the csd
