- Sony actually support custom ROM builders (via their Sony Open Devices program ^1)
- LineageOS and LineageOS for microg have official support for a good selection of Sony devices ^2
- Unofficial LineageOS ROMs available for even more Sony devices on XDA Forums ^3
- VoLTE & VoWiFi - which you'll need to make calls in USA - do usually work under LineageOS and other LineageOS-based custom ROMs
- Sony make great, long-lasting devices
