When using Tor Browser to access lmarena.ai, I encounter recurring errors that prevent normal operation. Often, the text input field does not load with the message error Connection errored out. At other times, I get error Something went wrong. Please refresh and try again. This happens both in Safer and Standard modes of Tor Browser.

Steps to Reproduce

  1. Open Tor Browser.
  2. Go to lmarena.ai.
  3. Attempt to use the text input field or click “Send”/“Evaluate”.

Expected Behavior
The input field should load, and sending/evaluating a prompt should work without error.

Actual Behavior

  • Text input field sometimes fails to load with the message error Connection errored out.
  • Sending or evaluating an input often triggers error Something went wrong. Please refresh and try again.

Additional Context
These errors consistently occur, making it impossible to use the text input or evaluate a model. Other websites generally work fine within Tor Browser, suggesting this may be a compatibility or connection handling issue specific to lmarena.ai.

I have the exact same problem from time to time. Regardless of the browser: Google Chrome or Opera.
Sometimes everything goes smoothly. And sometimes (usually after long conversations or huge requests to lmarena) the errors you described above start appearing.

I also encountered the issue on Lineage OS browser on Lineage 21 and 22.1 for uploaded images, RepoChat and Text2Image.

Happens literally every time for me on Opera. The solution is quite goofy: have DevTools open when entering the website with "Disable cache" enabled.
