Hello and thank you so much for sharing this tool!

It took me a while to figure out, but with the TrippLite USA-19HS USB to serial adapter, you have to replug the device and click the plot button while the green LED is still lit, otherwise it not start the print.

I'm not sure if it'd be as easy as resetting the connection before starting a plot? Or worst case it could just be documented to save others the hours I spent trying to get any plotting software to work with my MH 871-MK2.

I'm not much of a C++ guy but happy to help out in any other way that I'm able.

Hi dlford,

It looks like the current version of localplot will open the port brand new for each print job, which is a shame because that would be my first guess too. I'll do some testing on my end and see what I can come up with.

  • What OS/distro are you using?
  • Currently you set up a static path to the (nonexistant) serial port in settings, plug in adapter to your computer, and then quickly hit Plot?
  • Is the adapter found by "Refresh list" with or without the green LED lit?
