Colors disappear when I go into another file/tab and come back (inability to save color changes)

Describe the bug
I change the color or a list or task, e.g. to red, then go to another tab and come back, and the color selection(s) are gone and it's all back to white on black (default theme).

Expected behavior
I would expect the lists/tasks to retain the selected color.
