Is your feature request related to a problem? Please describe.

For Windows, compilation only generates static libraries, as by default the BUILD_SHARED_LIBS option is set to OFF.
Enable this option to generate DLLs and allow the use of dynamic linking.

Proposed solution

It can be added as a feature if that is the simplest way to make it available.
