I was just wondering why this source code is not included in the mainline kernel ?

It can't be included. It doesn't follow the Linux Wireless Standards that are required for a driver to be included in the kernel and it isn't close. The Main Menu here at this site is:

https://github.com/morrownr/USB-WiFi

It gives some background information and a lot of information on the adapters and chipsets that are supported in-kernel. One really interesting note is that the mt7921u driver (wifi 6) is in the Linux kernel and we don't even have any adapters on the market yet... but they are coming soon.

Regards
