Not sure if it would work out, have not really thought about it, but when using WINDOWED mode keep the height / font size / icon sizes/ etc. the same but just adjust the width of the seekbar, if this makes sense.
This way the OSC size can remain the same (heightwise) only the width of the seekbar changes.
