slow page scrolling with Memory Usage display

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. Install statusbarex
2. enable Memory usage display without Text only option

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
Slow page scrolling (ex: youtube)

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
version 0.3.5
Firefox 17 (and 16) with some settings as my laptop doesnt support Direct2D:
gfx.direct2d.disabled - true
gfx.font_rendering.directwrite.enabled - true

Manual fix: 
1. enable Text only or disable Memory usage
2. page scrolling is no longer slow
