While visiting B1 on Aug 2, 2017, we got to climb aboard the buoy and physically check the anemometers. All hose clamps are tight and nothing is moving that should not be. They are secure and the bases on both are firmly clamped to the delrin rods. The delrin rods are firmly locked in position.
Over the past month or so, one or both of the wdirs have been varying widely. However, exactly at the time while we were on the buoy both wdir1 and wdir2 data become steady again only to later (after 48 hours or so) become erratic again. We must have changed some grounding by being on the buoy or touching the anemometers.
only wdir1 and wdir2 have been affected
WSPD1 and WSPD2 have been stable since deployment.
wiring diagram of met junction box shows a common wire between wdir1 exec and wdir2 exec that is connected to pin8 on the umbilical chord to the main canister and then to VX1 on the CR1000.
prep/label wires spare wind monitors
We have three (3) Wind Monitor spares, but now believe the this a wiring repair and not a whole sensor replacement.
This ticket replaces both previous issues #69 and #72.
