The GeoLite2 City Database available for self-hosting is out of date.

Following the link:
https://pkgs.netbird.io/geolocation-dbs/GeoLite2-City/download?suffix=tar.gz

provides GeoLite2-City_20241115

I confirmed that the MaxMind Database has an up-to-date geo entry for a specific IP, but the database provided by the link above is out of date and references the wrong geolocation.

Thank you

I reported the same issue at GeoLite2 City Database Out of Date #2719 .

@mlsmaycon stated that they were going to look into the cache.

I was also about to open a new issue, but you beat me to it by two weeks.

I previously read through the management code and found that it would not be too difficult to extract the logic used to transform the MaxMind geodbs into the format used by the management process.

This allows the creation of a small utility app to generate these files from the MaxMind database. However, to obtain the files, one must have an account with MaxMind.

I would also highly appreciate the availability of updated files for self-hosting.
