Hey everyone.
I did try to search this 'bug' or 'feature' (not sure which one it is, ha) for many months and it has been bugging me for a long time. I guess there is probably a reason for this but if there is a manual 'workaround' this will probably help a lot of people.
The issue is when I start a new NC install and need to do the first major upload. In my case it's about 40,000 files and 20GB. I understand that NC has to 'scan' each file and do a 'check and compare' with local drive and server, but, I feel there should be a simple checkbox in the client (or also during the wizard process for first encounter) where it says 'is this an initial upload?". If you select 'yes' then NC will take the entire first sync as an upload from the local drive into NC. When it's done uploading everything, then it can begin checking and comparing. Once all contents of local drive are uploaded, then you can manually turn this off and regular 'check and compare' can happen.
The problem is that it takes me 3 or 4 days to upload the first one because the first upload always seems to get interrupted by the 'checking' process. Hope this helps someone or everyone.
