Steps to reproduce

  1. Setup an aio and use a mounted cifs share for data
  2. Upload a video
  3. Try to watch it

Expected behaviour

If i start a video in the app it should direclty start (if the latency is fine) and let me watch it.

Actual behaviour

If i start a video on my enviroment it loads 5-10 min for a 5 sec video and after that waiting period i can start it.

What i also tested it the follwing:

  • It works fine in the browser.
  • It works fine with the android app.
  • It works fine with the iOS App if i mount the cifs storage as external storage to another aio where data is on local storage.
  • It works not if i mount the cifs storage as external storage to my instance.
  • It works not if firewall is fully open/deactivated.
  • My system allows tls 1.2 and 1.3 from what i can see.
  • There is no error message displayed.

Logs

I deleted the log to get a fresh one but i think there is nothing related to the video display.

nextcloud.log

If applicable, you can post the iOS app or server logs (removing any sensitive information).

iOSlog.log

Reasoning or why should it be changed/implemented?

So playing videos is fully possible even with cifs shares.

I know there are other issues regarding video. But i tried most (hopefully all) the mentioned solutions but nothing helped in the end.
