To create multiple sites in sub directories we have to create multiple vhosts and domain names. We can update domain names to d8.${drupal.profile}.dev

Other way could be to have "d8.dev/site1" and "d8.dev/site1". That way we just have a single vhost file and we don't have to worry about multiple dns records.
