Iteration 1 - Select a food from the FOOD tab and have it open the bolus wizard/calculator w/ the correct number of carbs
record meal in the local database - check data model of NS to be compatible
Have a meal calculator where multiple foods & portions can be added/adjusted and then the meal can record carbs or start the bolus wizrd/calculator
be able to adjust portion sizes based on # of portions (i.e. 1 slice of bread, vs 2 slices of bread), but if the portion in NS is in oz or ml, then it would be nice to adjust the ml/oz amount (i.e. say 150ml rather than 1.5 of a portion of 100ml)
nice to have - default the list of foods to foods frequently consumed at that time of day (i.e. default to show breakfast foods in the morning)
be able to make adjustments (i.e only do 50% due to pending exercise, or add an extra 20g of carbs)
be able to save the meal with a name to the DB to be able to re-use the meal at a future date
be able to see prior meals & post-meal sugars to make a better bolus decision for today's meal
be able to use an existing database, such as https://world.openfoodfacts.org. Want to be able to use that, but also not be overwhelmed by choices.
I like this idea of using the foods database to do bolus calculations. I discussed something similar in one of the forums several months ago.
Note that there is a relatively new ticket #3761 that talks about entering carbs/100g directly from the bolus calculator.
