Describe the bug
The dark and light themes get mixed up when switching themes with multiple tabs of the app open.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Open one instance of the app in a browser tab
Open another instance in the same browser window as a separate tab
Click the dark mode switcher on one
Switch to the other, observe the results

Expected behavior
Dark mode should switch everything across browser tabs instead of just switching some elements.
