One date per post

Problem

In an announcement board, the date of publication differs from the date of the event. Unfortunately, the date of publication gets a prominent role on screen, leading to possible confusions.

Solution

I can think of two possibilities:

1. Publish now and tag with a future date (caution: if done naively, Wordpress will schedule the post instead of publishing it).
2. Choose a layout that doesn't display the publication date.
