Following installation steps resulting in .sh error #448

I have followed the instructions of installing and running the Python version.
No errors and the installation process were smooth (slow buy smooth).

Once completed I have run the start.sh which results in error

$ sh ./start.sh
: not found 6:
./start.sh: 62: Syntax error: "elif" unexpected (expecting "then")

Ubuntu 24.04

Any suggestions?
