Why?

Adherence to standards

Applying for the OSHWA certification will help ensure that Open Funk has followed all requirements for them to market the reMix as open-source hardare

Marketing

Once Open Funk attains the OSHWA certification on the reMix, it becomes indexed in the OSHWA database of open-source hardware. This will help other open-hardware consumers discover Open Funk.

Also, it would allow Open Funk to proudly declare that the reMix is OSHWA certified, and use that in their marketing material.

Cost

The certification is free to obtain.
