Thanks for sharing the OpenProject Excel makro. I'm using Excel macros quite often. A while ago I investigated how functions can be executed via the Excel AddIn menue. I think this method could improve the usability of you tool quite a bit (No need to remember Ctrl-B). The beauty is that the AddIn menue disappears when you close the file.
Instead of pulling and forking your stuff I just attached an example to this issue. It shows two different styles of AddIn menues (dead simple and a little more complex). I leave it up to you if you use it or ignore it.
