Can't determine password to start new VM install

I installed Midnight in VBox VM and the installation is listed as complete. I came to a login: prompt and I don't know what to do. I tried "vboxuser, changeme", jack,jack, and the only PW I remember "loop". I think that is root.

I chose "yes"

I chose "amd"

Can somebody help me get this going please? I know support is limited so I'll keep checking back. Thanks :)

the username is root for the root login. If you didn't create any other users during the install, that is the only one you have right now.

so where is says login you would login with root

If you did create another user, like jack, then you can login with jack and whatever password you set.

If you can't remember any of the passwords, the root password can be changed in single user mode. You can find that on a menu when you first start up the VM. You will need to mount the filesystems as read/write and then use the passwd command to change it.
