Announcing Autoware Launch GUI v1.0.4: Enhanced Usability and New Features!

I am excited to share the latest update to the Autoware Launch GUI, version 1.0.4, which introduces a range of new features and improvements aimed at enhancing the user experience and expanding the functionality of the GUI. This release is a significant step forward in our commitment to providing a versatile and user-friendly interface for interacting with Autoware and ROS2. Here’s what’s new:

Topic Publish Page Enhancements:

• Flexibility with Topics: Users now have the ability to not only publish messages to existing topics but also create new topics to publish to directly from the Topic Publish page.
• Auto-filled Message Prototypes: To streamline the publishing process, the Topic Publish page now features auto-filled message prototypes. This means that when you select or create a topic, a corresponding message prototype will automatically populate, saving you time and reducing the possibility of errors.

Service Call Page Upgrades:

• Simplified Service Calls: Sending call requests to existing services is now more straightforward with the introduction of auto-filled message prototypes on the Service Call page. This enhancement ensures that you have a template ready to go, making the process of interacting with services more efficient and less prone to mistakes.

Introducing the New Settings Page:

• Theme Customization: With the new settings page, users can now manually switch the theme of the app between light and dark modes, allowing for a personalized and comfortable visual experience based on preference or ambient lighting conditions.
• Multiple Workspaces Support: The app now supports adding multiple workspaces beyond the default Autoware workspace. This feature allows users to source different workspaces on every functionality within the app, greatly enhancing its flexibility and usability for various projects.
• Autostart Capability: For those who require the app to be ready immediately upon boot, the ability to enable autostart has been added. Once set, the Autoware Launch GUI will automatically start up with your system, ensuring you can dive straight into your work without delay.

Enhanced Accessibility with System Tray Icon:

• Easy Access: A new system tray icon has been introduced, providing quick access to hide/show the app GUI or quit the application entirely. This feature offers a convenient way to manage the Autoware Launch GUI without having to navigate through your operating system's application management interfaces, making it more accessible and easier to control.
