Even if the device isn't spectacular (from what I've read it isn't), there really aren't many players in cycle computer manufacturing, and Hammerhead are the only mainstream one that offer sideloading. There could be first mover advantages in getting a userbase on the platform; with the backing of SRAM one would hope they keep pushing out new computers.
