2011-03-30 Pierre Kestener <>
* Xsmurf version 2.4
- change FFTW2 to FFTW3
2008-09-16 Pierre Kestener <>
* Xsmurf version 2.3.2.andre_beta
- integrate some custom routines/commands by André Khalil.
2008-09-10 Pierre Kestener <>
* Xsmurf version 2.3.1:
- add the possibility to use the multi-threaded version of fftw2
- configure script has now a new option "--enable-fftw-threads" to
enable this feature.
2008-04-06 Pierre Kestener <>
* Xsmurf version 2.3:
- wtmm for 3d vector field in now integrated (see command wtmm3d with
option -vector; see doc/examples/test_wtmm3d_vectorfield.tcl)
- documentation improved; tcldoc is used to generated a HTML
documentation page about all the TCL-based commands defined in
sub-directory tcl_library
- a TCL tutorial is included in doc/tutorial_tcl
- new command "conv2xsm" (see file tcl_libraryconvertImageToXsm.tcl)
this command allows the user to load an image (TIFF, JPEG, PNM, PNG,
BMP) directly into xsmurf (colored images are changed into gray-scale)
- use Nvidia GPU: in doc/template one can find a CUDA project that
implements the 2D Canny Edge detector using graphics board resources.
This implementation is about 8 to 10 times faster than the pure CPU
fftw-based implementation. The scalar 2d template has been modified
to allowing testing GPU computing.
- i3D_2_vtk has now a "-binary" option (generated file are much smaller)
2007-??-?? Pierre Kestener <>
* Xsmurf version 2.2:
2007-07-04 Pierre Kestener <>
* Xsmurf version 2.1: defunc removed and replaced by GNU libmatheval.
Take care that the absolute value function symbol "fabs" is replaced
by "abs".
2007-04-** Pierre Kestener <>
* Xsmurf version 2.0: xsmurf now uses libtool's (aclocal, automake, etc).
See file bootstrap.sh
Xsmurf use FFTW library for computing WTMM edges of 2D/3D images (images
do not require anymore to have a power-of-2 size).
