I am a proud owner of a Prusa XL with multiple print heads and have been exploring various ways to optimize its capabilities. One feature that I believe would greatly enhance the user experience and take full advantage of the multi-tool setup is the ability to assign different print heads to specific layer heights directly in PrusaSlicer.
Currently, when working with STL files, such as those generated from HueForge, I can use the slider in PrusaSlicer to define color changes at specific layer heights. However, this feature appears to be tailored for single-tool setups, as it only allows the selection of colors for a single print head.
It would be incredibly beneficial if, instead of selecting colors, users could assign specific print heads to different layer heights. This would allow for true multi-tool utilization, enabling complex prints with varied materials or colors without the need to manually split objects into separate parts.
Such a feature would significantly enhance the capabilities of the Prusa XL, especially for users working on intricate or multi-material designs. I hope you find this suggestion valuable and consider it for future updates of PrusaSlicer.
Thank you for your continued innovation and support. I look forward to seeing what the future holds for the Prusa ecosystem!
Best regards,
Herbert
