Automatic prefilling of all possible permutations for experimental variables during experimental group creation

Currently i have to manually create the experimental groups from the values defined within the experimental variables. So if i have a variable with 5 levels, I have to define 5 experimental groups (one for each level).
If i have 2 variables with 5 levels each the number of groups i have to define increases by a huge amount

Why do you need a solution?

While the current solution works for a small amount of variables and levels, having multiple levels per variable makes the selection process during experimental group generation cumbersome. I'd like the possiblity of creating all groups automatically from all possible permutations from the variable levels.

Ideas

A button which generates the groups in the creation dialog would be nice, with a replicate value of 0 ensuring that i have to sanity check the created groups by providing the number of replicates.

While this is technically feasible, the question is how much does the user gain she has to scroll down the complete dialog to sanity check if all permutations of interest are in there? The described feature is only sensible if all experimental variable permutations are considered as experimental groups within the experiment

After discussion it would make more sense first, to help the user understand which groups already exist without having them to press the save/edit button
