Having faster VM is great but if we are talking about replacing linux CI jobs, there will be a problem: currently linux CI produce built artifacts for x64 and if we switched, it will become ARM which means the testers can't test it anymore. However, for non artifact producing workflows (webui, health check, python, etc.), I suppose we could look into it. I also hoped that they would provide |

@xavier2k6 i just thought I'd add it here instead of in the issue where they get marked off topic.
I made a
ubuntu-24.04-arm
of my qbittorrent-nox builds and it takes 20-25 minutes instead of 25-30 minutes and various other jobs and examples i've played with.Generally speaking, the
ubuntu-24.04-arm
is the fastest of the two, about 20% faster, even for basic ci tasks/checks, so I'd recommend all jobs use this runner where possible to effectively decrease jobs run times by about 20% on average, subject to the below issue being resolved. Most basic tasks can just swap out the runner with no issue. There is a problem, as I have reported here
https://github.com/orgs/community/discussions/148648#discussioncomment-11935457 and here actions/partner-runner-images#37
Currently there is a some problem that makes them unreliable so you might want to wait for that to be resolved.
