qBittorrent & operating system versions

Linux Kubuntu 24.10. All up to date. qbittorrent from PPA:

=$ dpkg -l | grep -iE 'torrent'
ii libtorrent-rasterbar2.0:amd64 2.0.11.git20241028.6a2c1eef6f-1ppa1~24.10 amd64 C++ bittorrent library by Rasterbar Software
ii qbittorrent 1:5.0.1.99~202411110104-8423-1e27e6504~ubuntu24.10.1 amd64 bittorrent client based on libtorrent-rasterbar with a Qt GUI

I think that my qt6 version is 6.6.2, but I'm not entirely sure how to check. I do see this:

ii qt6-wayland:amd64 6.6.2-2 amd64 Qt 6 Wayland platform plugin

There is also lots of libqt6* packages in 6.6.2 version.

What is the problem?

I'm using qt version, not webui. In Preferences => Downloads, I have both "Merge trackers to existing torrent" and "Ask for merging trakcers when torrent is being added manually" selected.

When I searched for a torrent, and clicked multiple to download I got series of notifications like:

Couldn't add torrent …, reason: Merging of trackers is disabled.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Search for a torrent
  2. Find something that has multiple versions of similar files found by different search plugins
  3. select them all, right-click, and pick "download".

Yes. I tried to add ~ 10 torrents (same file, different versions/search engines), got two of these and 2 notifications that I mentioned - that it can't be merged. Sorry, didn't mention numbers before.

Judging by the log and config, you don't have any issues.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Search for a torrent
  2. Find something that has multiple versions of similar files found by different search plugins
  3. select them all, right-click, and pick "download".

I can't reproduce.

How do I make it so I don't get notifications about failed merge, then ?
